Guthrie/Duncan Rd 1?

Odds makers would say Guthrie will travel to Duncan for the first round of the play-off's.

They would say the Jays will lose to Shawnee and then collect two wins over Capitol Hill and Noble and finish 3rd in 5A-2.

They would also say after the 35-34 win over Lawton Mac this past week, Duncan will go on and get wins over Western Heights and Northwest Classen before losing to El Reno in Week 10 to finish second in 5A-1.

The only hiccup's in the Guthrie/Duncan talk would be Duncan upsetting El Reno. In that case, Guthrie would travel to El Reno for a re-match and the Jays taking down Shawnee and creating a points race with Carl Albert. It would get to confusing if Carl Albert would be upset in the final three weeks of the season.

But hey, the odds makers are just that....odds makers.

With that said...a third place finish for the Jays may turn out to be an "easier" way to the state semi's as to finishing second or even first.

I would rather take my chances with someone like Duncan and McAlester then Lawton Mac and T. Kelley, but still plenty of season is left.
