Tulsa means Tulsa

The Tulsa World higher ups have said that the "games of the week" should be just local games in their area. However, I am pretty sure they cover stories outside of the Tulsa area. Then again not many of us in this area look at that paper.

Where's the LOVE?

It is my understanding that the Tulsa World does not have Guthrie - Carl Albert as their Game of the Week. In fact, it is not in the Top 10!!!

Oh my! Hopefully, we will hear a response back. Surely, it was just a mistake, or misprint.

Guthrie - Carl Albert Week

Well, I believe I am finally caught up with everything now?

After the Noble game I came home and did my normal web site duties and left for Dallas with my buddy, Jason Reece, at 1:30 in the morning. Let's just say it was a long 24 hours from Friday morning to Saturday evening with about 45 minutes of sleep and the wrong team winning in Big D.

The Guthrie-Carl Albert week is always a fun, but busy week for me personally. I try and do everything possible to make sure we all have enough information out there to get us ready for the game. Throw in a radio show and a web site and it is a non-stop week.

My Cox Communications friend and producer Jerry Hayes called me today and asked me to do a segment in their pregame show that starts at 7:00 pm. I wonder if I have to wear make-up?

Suppose we can have a lil fun and get your predictions. You can use the poll at the bottom of this page and I invite you to leave some feedback on this forum, or perhaps on the GSP Message Board at: http://www.bluejaychris.proboards80.com/

Jays extend streak to 16

The Guthrie BlueJays extended their winning streak to 16 games in a row with a 35-0 win over the El Reno Indians. Despite, the win the BlueJay coaching staff was not happy with the effort the team put out on the field.

Not sure anyone could expect the Jays to come out with the same "hype" as they did the week before. Perhaps not!

The coaching staff has high expectations for the team and with the effort put out by the Jays the coaches do not believe that would be good enough for what this team wants to do.

Clayton Smith should return back to the line-up and that will help the Jays this week against the Wildcats of Piedmont.

Don't forget our poll question this week.

Guthrie - McGuinness

What a high school football game we got to see last Friday night when the Guthrie BlueJays defeated McGuinness 21-3 in front of the largest crowd ever at Jelsma Stadium to watch a football game. To bad the Irish mascot did not get to take in all the fun!

My hats off of to the BlueJay defense. Not only to hold the Irish to just 3 points, but the way they did it by playing fast and hard. Some Jays had to play both ways, but I am not about to test their conditioning. This coaching staff does a great job in that department and it showed in the second half.

On to El Reno and this is not a good time to let your guard down. Nothing is easy on the road and especially in Indian Land.

Be sure to weigh in on the new poll below.

Your Thoughts?

2008 Guthrie Football

With the first week of practice behind the Jays, Guthrie now prepares for their first scrimmage of the season, with 6A schools, Enid and Ponca City this Friday (8-22).

Be sure to take time out to vote in our poll question. The question is how many games will the BlueJays win this season? You can find that at the bottom of the page.

Share your thoughts on some names you are interesting in seeing this season.

Skylar Smith will be fun to watch unless you are on the other side of the ball. I will be interested in watching Laron Parker, Marcus Ware, and JP Bruner.
