Guthrie Sports Page does not have any games played between these two schools prior to the 2001 season. If you know of any, please share.
Here are the two that I have:
2007 Guthrie 45-14 in a state semi-final game at Putnam City Stadium
2002 Guthrie 27-13 at East Central in a second round game
Ironic, but those are the same years Guthrie won their state championships. Okay, okay lets not jump that gun quite yet.

These Jays have been underestimated since the season began! I say Boo to the fair weather fans and naysayers, wouldn't it be awesome? I think they may shock us all!
I agree there have been some naysayers and fair weather fans this season, but we will need them come Friday and the rest of the season.
This team does not have to win a team title to prove anything. They have already proven a lot over this season.
Having said that, a third title would not be bad at all.
The jays have been underestimated by a lot of the bluejay fans. I have been behind them all the way. This is as far as they got last year with the power house team. The team has been doing better on the road because they see the stands half full and know they have not been getting the support. Lets stand behind them win or lose. They need our support. We have to realize they are a young team with a freshman quarterback and they are doing a heck of a job. The defense is awesome and the offense is improving. Come on Bluejay fans get on board we can do this. We travelled to Duncan and felt that we could win and we did. I feel that if we play hard, keep down the penalties and get our key players involved we can get pass East Central. If not I will still be proud of this team and what it has accomplished. I am a proud Bluejay Mema!!!
I hope the shock never wears off and we take state! Just imagine what this "young" team will be like in the next few years!
